A sailboat weathervane was installed at Ross Lake Park to honor Bob Sandberg, a Coast Guard veteran and trustee of the Whale Pond Brook Watershed Association, celebrating his love of sailing and lasting leadership.

Bob Sandberg’s soul mate, sister, nephew, and grand niece gathered at Ross Lake Park.
They were joined by members of the Shore Group of the Sierra Club.
Trustees of the Whale Pond Brook Watershed Association were also present.

Together, we installed a copper weathervane at the park.
The weathervane features a sailboat.
Bob loved sailing.

The sailboat is dedicated to Bob in honor of his leadership spirit.
Bob was a Coast Guard veteran.
When he liked something, he would say, “cool beans.”

We hope he’s saying that now.
